Frank X. Tolbert was a Texas chili pioneer!
He wrote the definitive book on chili in 1966, “A Bowl of Red,” and his amazing chili pot has been shared with guests from around the world ever since. In 1967 Frank X. and his friends founded the first Terlingua International Championship Chili Cookoff that lives to this day!
In fact, Tolbert’s Chili Parlor and Restaurant in Grapevine Texas, continues to serve his same great recipe today. Now, you can be a part of that tradition. We invite you to grab a bowl of red, share with friends and toast the man who put Texas into Chili.
Slow-cooked with chunks of tender beef, Tolbert’s is the real deal! It is the exact pot of chili, with the same amount of care, that Frank X. created almost 60 years ago.
